Fun for a getaway

Our kids had a blast in the outdoor areas around the cabin, it appeared to a safe area. The online listing of the cabin was deceitful. It was much smaller than the pictures and the overall cleanliness was poor, but it is a cabin. Our door didn’t lock and the toaster broke after one use but we made the most of it and had a fun family trip.

Hot and sticky. No AC

No communication from host prior to arrival. We had questions and without any guidance we had a somewhat uncomfortable stay. We were billed an additional one hundred dollars, which was never explained and charged a cleaning fee for a unit that was NOT clean

The place is cozy and quiet. I will say the pictures and description are deceiving. Cabins are very small and very compact. If you like to have alot of room to stretch, then you need to be outside. Also there is no air conditioning so be prepared. All in all though it is a very cute place and very peaceful.

Overpriced Campground

I loathe writing bad reviews, but I feel that in this instance, I should share. Though Urban Saddle Ranch is on its way to being an upscale campground, it's just not there yet. Set in the heavily wooded hills near the Raystown Dam, it's lovely in its natural beauty, but the rutted out roads and non-existant signs have much to be desired!! Another family and I rented one of the 2 story spaces that made up the big cabin which housed 3 other rentals. They allowed only one car per rental, which was fine, because they had an overflow parking not too far away. However, parking at the cabin was in the rear and extremely tight and unclear because of no signage or markings. Because of the confusion, the owner approached myself and our neighbors. I have never had an experience from a host like this piece of work!! He was condescending, unprofessional and simply had no patience or willingness to understand anything that might need improvement or change in order to help future customers!! I was appalled at how he spoke to me. Enough about parking...now onto the no air conditioning situation. I was prepared for this because nice previous customers put this tidbit in their reviews (its not listed in amenities). What I wasn't prepared for was the fact that probably 75% of the windows didn't even open! And there was no screen in the front door to boot!! Aaahhh it was hot! The last negative bit was that the "Office " to sign in at was located past a sign that read "STOP! NO VEHICLES PAST THIS POINT " & the office was labeled "City Hall". To save other people's confusion, just put that in the welcome papers. By the way, the host was never in City Hall, she was always at home. On the positive side, all of my kiddos enjoyed the free range animals and the corrals of pigs and horses. We also enjoyed the beautiful outdoor campfire sites and mini picnic tables. We also fit nicely in the space and loved the 1/2 bath on the main floor. This place is on its way to being a quaint upscale campground, but give it a few more years because right now, it's just an overpriced one.
