Newport Cabin on Diamond Lake w/ Private Boat Dock

we loved our stay here and the paddle boards were amazing.

First, the price was cheap, so we came in with low expectations. It did not exceed them. The space is old, musty smelling, and overly cluttered. There are hundreds of kitchen tools, many rusty and broken. It wasn’t clean- a dirty sponge in the sink, lack of vacuuming from the last guest, cobwebs and dust everywhere, filthy oven and a dirty bath mat. The AC was off when we arrived late, so the house was hot, and the fan pictured doesn’t even work (tried multiple outlets) so all the bed doors need to be wide open all night or you will roast. The “host” is an AI bot. If you ask a question it doesn’t know, it’ll give you some email or number to text. Zero connection to the host in this one. Multiple cameras on the exterior (they said 2 point to the parking lot), there is one directly pointed at the deck you hang on. No clue who is watching. Creepy. Finally, the dock and exterior is falling apart. A dirty fire pit they burn trash in, and Walmart camp chairs provided. Avoid.

The cabin was very clean and decorated so cute. Air conditioning was nice to have. Drawers were labeled so you could find things easily. Neighbors were nice. I could live there year around.
