22 Mi to Ski Big Bear! Lake Wallenpaupack Getaway

Had a lovely weekend getaway in the Poconos. This place had all of the bare necessities and then some to make for a cozy stay.

By far the worst property I've ever stayed at i dont know if the cleaning crew didn't show up but it was dirty and bugs everywhere. I didn't even stay the whole time I booked it for

The house was a great budget value & has a nice walkable neighborhood which was a mix of residential & rentals & we are super appreciative that this was dog friendly. Lauren was very responsive & helpful with local events happening during our stay and places to check out. She even stopped by to help with a quick maintenance issue we had. In the listing it talks about an access to a local beach but it is not a beach in the sense you would recreationally think of. Just a view of the water but no real access to it and not a place you would sit a chair down and hang out. We went to the one public beach right next to the visitor center. No water access due to e coli & geese hanging out. I recommend you check out their Palmyra FB page to get updates on beach closings. Nice walking path starting at the visitor center & it has park benches & a great place to view a sunset reflecting on the lake. Afterwards I highly recommend ice cream from 38 Welwood Ave - Local family owned & operated
