Property was very nice. Relaxing

Nice and homey. Views were worth it.

We have stayed at HWAV many times over perhaps the last 20 years or so. In that time, ownership has seemingly changed hands several times. That said, we have stayed there for the scenery, as well as the peace and quiet. The rental units are always clean and generally very comfortable. HWAV will always be our number one place to stay in that area. The views, in our opinion, are unmatched. That said, there are four things of concern; (1)- They do offer a senior discount of sorts. However, we haven't found anything on their website that reflects that. Previous owners had that and weekday specials listed on their website. So, you have to specifically ask for it. They will adjust the charge. (2)- They do include a specific cleaning charge. While we realize that cleaning is a necessity, asking the guests to tear off the bed linen and pile it along with the towels seems a bit much. A hotel wouldn't ask you to do that. (3)- They also have a damage charge. It would seem reasonable that if no damage has occured, then that charge should be returned. Otherwise, this seems like a windfall. Besides, my personal insurance would likely cover accidental damage. (4) Speaking specifically about unit number 1, but guessing it's the same in all the units, the bathroom lavatory and double vanity are both dated and very low. We couldn't help but notice that other seniors were staying there at the same time we were. Higher more up-to-date bathroom features would sure make it easier on us.

The views were amazing and the suite was nice but....the wifi was poor. We could barely get cell reception and the wifi cut out so much that we couldn't get and email to the host to report a problem. The kitchen sink was clogged when we came and the garbage disposal did not work. We rented this particular place because it had a full kitchen and we wanted to cook most of our meals during our stay. We ended up having to do dishes in the bathroom sink. The TV was very small, probably 18". That wasn't a problem for us but others might be annoyed by it. The furniture was functional and the bed was VERY comfortable but everything looked dated and well used. The jacuzzi bathtub was very nice but the sprayer was broken 6had a piece of tape over it. The description mentioned a hot tub on the property that could be used by all the guest but it was right outside of another units window where the kitchen table was and there was no way to access it except to go onto their private deck area. So we didn't use the hot tub like we had planned. They did have fresh baked bread, cinnamon rolls, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice, yogurt and jam. It was a beautiful location. From what I understand 2 of the 6 units have been updated and I suppose that the other 4 units are next on the list. We would definitely consider staying again of the sink and wifi worked.

Really nice place it was in the middle of all the areas we wanted to go to would come again
