We have stayed there the last two years and hope to stay there again next year. The host was very responsive. I would definitely recommend staying if anywhere close to the area.

Everything was great except we weren’t told the washing machine would be unavailable until late in the game. There were empty beer cans in a dresser drawer upstairs. A rat jumped from the rolled up door outside by the fireplace and ran up my adult son’s leg as he was sitting at the table. Fortunately, he didn’t mind. It was a cute rat. The listing mentioned a canoe, but there wasn’t one. In spite of these things we had a great time and loved the location and peacefulness of the place. I just wanted to leave honest feedback so you know ways to improve the experience for your guests. The layout is perfect for individual families all staying together. The kitchen had just about everything you could ever need and the quietest dishwasher I’ve ever used.

We had a wonderful stay at the Ashland Lodge with our group of 11, which included our adult children and elderly parents. The home is incredibly beautiful, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out. There was more than enough room for everyone to spread out, relax, and enjoy time together.The outdoor spaces were one of our favorite parts of the property. We spent hours enjoying the peaceful patio, watching the pond, and playing bocce ball. The setting is absolutely stunning and feels like a private nature retreat. During our stay we saw an amazing variety of wildlife, including deer, frogs, lizards, bats, and even dusky-footed woodrats!The location was perfect for exploring the Ashland area, and returning to such a peaceful, comfortable home at the end of each day was a highlight of our trip. We would happily stay here again.There were just two issues worth mentioning for future guests and the owners. With a larger group, the hot water supply was limited, making it difficult for everyone to shower comfortably. Additionally, the washing machine was out of service during our stay. While we understand that appliances sometimes break unexpectedly, we weren't informed about the issue until the day we arrived, which made it difficult to plan ahead.Overall, these were relatively minor inconveniences compared to what an exceptional property this is. We highly recommend the Ashland Lodge and would gladly return.

We had 6 adults and 6 kids stay here, and the house accommodated all of us comfortably with plenty of space. One of our favorite things was that we could all sit around the kitchen table together! The wildlife was incredible! We saw deer every day, and they came so close to the house. The lake is within walking distance, and the pond in the backyard with seating nearby was such a peaceful place to relax. The host was very responsive and easy to communicate with, which we really appreciated. Future guests should know: the home is about 30 minutes from town on a winding road, so plan your trips accordingly. Also, as noted in the listing, the bunk room does not include bedding. Thankfully, one of our parents noticed that detail ahead of time, so we came prepared with sleeping bags, sheets, and blankets. The only issue we experienced was that the hot water was a inconsistent and would occasionally go in and out, but it always came back. We definitely would like to stay here again!

This is a gorgeous place. Incredible property in all ways and just a short walk to a beautiful quiet lake. We loved it. The elaborate cabin is exquisite. Beautifully detailed yet warm and comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen. The home is very well thought through and is the perfect place for a gettaway.
